Molecular Guardians

Introduction

Molecular Guardians Molecular Guardians is a two-minute animated film we made with Professor Nicolas Bazan of LSU Health New Orleans, built around his research on elovanoids. Elovanoids are lipid molecules the brain and retina produce to defend their own cells, and the film follows them at work, protecting the synapses that memory depends on when the brain is under stress. We animated it from scratch, building the cellular world ourselves, so that biology most people never get to see becomes something they can watch and understand in two minutes. It's the kind of work we love most, taking science that usually lives inside a journal and giving it a form people actually want to watch. https://www.nature.com/articles/s42003-026-09931-1
